Love great design? Good at words? We might be looking for you.

The San Diego Architectural Foundation is on a mission to make architecture accessible to everyone — and we need a creative, socially savvy volunteer to help us tell that story online.

This is a low-commitment, high-impact role supporting our small but mighty communications team to bring SDAF to life online. This isn't just posting pretty pictures. It's capturing moments, honoring our history, and helping San Diegans understand why thoughtful design matters in their everyday lives. You'll help draft social media posts and stories, keep our content fresh and on-brand, and occasionally help capture or organize photos from events and programs.

What you'll do:

  • Help write copy and schedule posts and stories for Instagram and Linkedin
  • Draft copy related to SDAFs mission and board happenings — from happy hours to why we do what we do
  • Help document and celebrate SDAF's history and milestones
  • Keep up with what's happening in the San Diego design community and help us show up for it
  • Collaborate (loosely!) with our co-chairs and staff to keep things timely and fun

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have a feel for social media — what works, what doesn't, what makes people stop scrolling, and what keeps them coming back for more content
  • Are a strong writer who can match a brand voice (warm, community-focused, occasionally quirky)
  • Have a background or interest in marketing, communications, or design
  • Love a good story, especially one rooted in community
  • Care about San Diego, design, or both

Time commitment: About 1–2 hours per week, flexible and remote-friendly.

No architecture degree required. Just enthusiasm for making design matter to everyone — and maybe a soft spot for San Diego.
